So Happy Old New Year! :)

Russians celebrate even two New Year holidays! Would you like to know more?
One of the most mysterious Russian holidays Старый новый год (Old New Year) is celebrated on January 13\14th. Old New Year is an informal holiday in Russia and it is less important than traditional New Year, it is celebrated without ruffle!
Old New Year appeared because of the change of the calendars in Soviet Russia. In 1918 Russia started to use a new Gregorian calendar instead of the Julian one. By that time almost all European countries had been using new style. It caused many problems, because the calendars differred one from each other with 13 days!

Now there are both holidays in the country New Year according to a new style and New Year according to an old style!

So Happy Old New Year! :)
