Hello Dear Russian Learners!✨

Last week we talked about exceptions in plural forms of nouns😱Today let's talk about genders!👫

We all know that Russians refer to a table as "he" and to a lamp as "she"✍🏻. Every thing, every object has its own gender: masculine, faminine or neuter. 📝Usually we determine a gender by an ending of a word: a hard consonant at the end shows that this word is masculine 👨(стол, стул, компьютер, телефон); -а, -я tell us that this is a feminine 👩word (книга, семья); -о, -е at the end mean that the word is neuter (окно, море). But there are some exceptions... As always!😜

One of the most well-known and often used words is КОФЕ (coffee)☕. It ends in -e, so we might think that it's neuter (оно). BUT! It's an exception! It's masculine👨, not neuter. So never say "моё кофе" or "одно кофе"⚠. Instead use "МОЙ КОФЕ", "ОДИН КОФЕ".

Can you remember any other nouns gender exceptions?👂
