Could you guess what "having tea" in Russia means?

"It's the small differences and surprises, that make travelling so interesting. Having stayed in Petrozavodsk for a week now, I already got to experience several Russian peculiarities.
I found out that when my Russian host mother invites me for tea in the evening, "having tea" actually means having a small meal consisting of tea and all kinds of delicious food, like Russian pancakes (блины)" - Lisa (Austria).
