Russians are insanely rude and crazy
99% of Russians live their daily life without being rude to each other. It only takes some openness, readiness to throw away some intercultural cliches and a strong will to understand. Besides, Russians are hospitable, outgoing and always ready to help.
Okay, Russians are very, very expressive. They may wave and shake their hands like they are having a seizure when they’re just talking about the weather. What’s more, they are pretty loud! And of course it doesn't mean that they are crazy!

THE MYSTERY OF THE RUSSIAN SOUL
There are many myths about Russians. Let's see what do we have in real life!
Russians are anti-laughters
It is generally believed that Russians don’t smile a lot. That’s partly true, but it’s not because they’re not funny or happy or even rude. Unsmiling (неулыбчивость) is one of the most prominent national features of Russian communication.
1) They don’t smile at people for the sake of being “polite” because they consider this gesture weird and a waste of time. Such a “smile for being polite” can cause irritation and even alertness. Smiling doesn’t mean politeness.
2) Smiling at strangers is not accepted in Russia. But they will smile to their friends.
3) Russian will not always smile back at a person who smiles at him.
4) Russians usually don’t smile while performing their duties (customs officers, waiters, teachers, doctors etc.). They just being serious and concentrated!
5) Russians smile if they really feel like they want to smile or they have a strong reason for that.
6) Russian smile is believed to be sincere.
7) Russian smile at a person means good personal attitude to him.

Natalia Svetlova (Solzhenitsyna) – the wife of Alexander Solzhenitsyn.
As many wives of writers, she also was his secretary, editor, critic and typist. When Alexander Solzhenitsyn was sent into exile, Natalia moved after him. That’s why her citizenship was revoked. Later it was restored, so they could come back to Russia.
Today she is Chair of Alexander Solzhenitsyn Russian Social Fund, a charity that helps former victims of political repressions.

«They were soooo kind and hospitable!!!» - Guglielmo (Italy)
One evening walking around the city our students got to know people from a wedding party just out of the place where was taking place the wedding party. Theywent on talking with them for about half an hour, until they decided to invite our students to a club calling the taxi for us, and we spent the whole night dancing with them.
